JOIN US AS WE PAY TRIBUTE

28 May 2015

BRADFORD Bulls will celebrate Armed Forces Day in style next month when James Lowes’ side welcome Batley Bulldogs to the Provident Stadium, Odsal.

In aid of The Royal British Legion, on Sunday June 28, from 3.00pm, you will be able to enjoy an action-packed afternoon of entertainment.

The Armed Forces will take over the Provident Stadium, bringing in everything from shooting ranges and climbing walls to military dogs!

You will have the opportunity to take aim and face army-styled challenges throughout the course of the day, before taking in a Great Britain Armed Forces ladies game.

Prior to the game’s start – which will be marked by canon fire – a military fly-by will take place before we pause for a minute’s silence.

And we will welcome recovering servicemen onto the hallowed turf to deliver the official match ball, before the action gets underway.

Over the coming days – and in another first for the club – we will be launching a special edition Armed Forces shirt, with £10 of every jersey being donated to The Royal British Legion.

This will be an afternoon of entertainment you cannot afford to miss, so hurry, secure tickets for the Kingstone Press Championship clash and join us in paying tribute to our Armed Forces.

28 May 2015

LONG-STANDING 1863 Member Hilary Firth is already itching to renew ahead of next season.

Hilary joined The 1863 Members Club last year and is thoroughly enjoying it, having made the most of a whole host of “excellent” exclusive benefits and discounts.

She has taken advantage of 50% off Summer Bash tickets and £5 off an official replica home or away shirt.

“Membership represents great value for money and I am delighted to have been a part of it this season,” Hilary said.

Bearing in mind all of the discounts available and the savings on gameday admission prices and the other great benefits, including an excellent 50% discount on Summer Bash tickets and £5 off replica shirts, it really is a fantastic product.

I have been particularly impressed with the membership pack which comes with your membership card.

“There are some great goodies in there, exclusive to members only, and it is fantastic to see so many people wearing their 1863 Members scarves with pride this season.

“Becoming a member and helping the Bulls in their push to return to Super League was an absolute no-brainer for me and I look forward to playing my part as a member next season.”

McDERMOTT: 'BRADFORD WILL SOON CHALLENGE AGAIN'

28 May 2015

FORMER Bradford star Brian McDermott believes the Bulls will soon be competing at the sport’s summit once again.

James Lowes’ side recorded a 12th-successive Kingstone Press Championship victory over the weekend and are just two points behind league-leaders Leigh Centurions.

McDermott, who spent nine seasons at The Provident Stadium, was a Super League, Challenge Cup and World Club Challenge winner with the Bulls.

He turned to coaching back in 2006 with Harlequins RL and has since gone on to achieve greatness with local rivals Leeds.

The ex-Great Britain international is backing the Bulls to “overcome obstacles” in 2015 and begin a rise back to the top.

“I have confidence they will once again challenge to be a top four side again,” said McDermott, who retired as a Bradford player back in 2003 – following yet another Grand Final success.

“I think it is fair to say no-one was in any doubt that, with a period of stability, Bradford will begin to realise their potential.

“Between now and then there are a few more obstacles to overcome and in James Lowes they are in great hands to be able to meet those challenges and overcome them.”

Bradford return to Kingstone Press Championship action this Sunday, taking on London Broncos at The Hive.

You can secure tickets for the round-fifteen contest by CLICKING HERE or calling a member of our ticketing team – on 08448 711 490 – during normal office hours.

Return coach travel is also available, priced at £32 for 1863 Members and £35 for non-members.

BROOK IN COUGARS SWITCH

27 May 2015

YOUNGSTER Adam Brook has joined Kingstone Press League One side Keighley Cougars on loan.

The 20-year-old scrum-half will spend the next month at Cougar Park, with a view to gaining further game-time as Keighley continue their push for promotion back to the Kingstone Press Championship.

Halifax-born Brook was a star of the Bulls’ Under-19s side and graduated last year.

Bulls head coach James Lowes hopes Brook, who is sponsored by JBW Music, can continue his development during his loan spell – which commences with immediate effect.

“Playing for Keighley allows Adam to continue to gain much-needed game-time, closer to home,” said Lowes, who is sponsored in memory of Joyce Dobby.

“He was enjoying his rugby with Oxford but it is quite a distance to travel and we need to ensure Adam is continuing to improve on the field.”

Brook could feature as early as this weekend when the third-placed Cougars take on league-leaders Oldham at Cougar Park.

Meanwhile, the Bulls return to Kingstone Press Championship action on Sunday, taking on former Super League rivals London Broncos at The Hive.

You can secure tickets for the round-fifteen contest by CLICKING HERE or calling a member of our ticketing team – on 08448 711 490 – during normal office hours.

Return coach travel is also available, priced at £32 for 1863 Members and £35 for non-members.
