ADRIAN PURTELL says the Bulls must turn their Provident Stadium home into a fortress in 2014.
The 29-year-old three-quarter knows the picking up of points will prove absolutely crucial this season, insisting a victory has to come this Sunday against London Broncos.
Francis Cummin's men began First Utility Super League XIX with a home defeat at the hands of Castleford Tigers, last month.
But the Australian centre is confident his side can claim a much-needed two points this weekend, securing a second-straight triumph following last week's 23-10 win at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
“We want to make sure that the Provident Stadium is a tough place to come for any team in Super League,” said the former Penrith Panthers and Canberra Raiders star.
“We know, with the fans right behind us, that we can win games.
“It is vital that we produce some good performances, though, early on, in order to make sure our future opposition dreads the prospect of a trip to Bradford.
“We believe the London game will give us a good chance of starting to make that happen.”
Purtell arrived at Bradford in 2012 following six years in the NRL.
He has started the new campaign superbly, bagging a try in each of the Bulls’ opening ties.
Purtell kick-started the scoring during last Thursday's triumph over Wakefield and is hoping the Bulls can now push on, in Round Three, having opened their account at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium last week.
He said: “It was great to get a first win under our belts.
“We have worked hard throughout pre-season and it is now it is starting to pay off.
“Even though it is only early in the season, we need to start building to create a platform for the rest of the year.
“Personally I have enjoyed a good start to the season.
“Getting two tries already is brilliant for me, but it also shows the hard work the forwards are putting in to get us up the pitch and create space for the backs.
“As a team we now need to carry our focus from last weekend into today's game.
“We need to continue to make things easy for ourselves by cutting out silly errors and completing our sets.
“If we do that there’s no reason why we cannot get our home account off the mark against the Broncos."
