UNDER 20'S GO DOWN AT BELLE VUE
The Bulls Under 20's went down 24-46 to Wakefield Wildcats at Belle Vue.
The Bulls gave Manase Manuokafoa a debut and included Karl Pryce in their line up but it was the Wakefield overage players, Frankie Mariano and Andy Ellis, who dominated proceedings. Ellis was smart all night from Dummy Half whilst the tall rangy Mariano gave an abject lesson in how to run with power and purpose before having to leave the field midway through the second half with what looked like a groin injury.
Tries from Matt Bailey and the impressive Liam McAvoy saw the Bulls lead 12-6 midway through the first half but a spate of penalties against them saw the Wildcats have a plethora of possession in goodball and they made that possession count.
The home side went in at the break leading 24-12 and quickly extended that to 30-12 before the impressive John Bateman had a try but, in a feat they were to accomplish twice more, the Bulls failed to gather the kick off and Wakefield romped over. Jay Rossi had two late tries for the Bulls but each time the Wildcats were gifted the ball from the restart to run out comprehensive victors.
