YOUR CHANCE TO PLAY WITH THE BRADFORD LEGENDS
How would you like to play at the Grattan Stadium with some of Bradford's legendary players? Well you now have the opportunity!!
Bradford Bulls in association with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, will be staging a game of Touch Rugby between Bradford Bulls All Stars and 65 Roses Rugby in aid of Cystic Fibrosis on March 5th as a Curtain Raiser to the Bulls Engage Super League game against Wigan Warriors.
Players will be part of the Bradford Sixty Five Roses team along with other CF Trust supporters and international rugby stars such as former Great Britain captain Garry Schofield, the first British Muslim to play for England Ikram Butt and former Wigan Warriors stars Gary Connolly, Steve Hampson and Martin Dermott. The team will play against the Bradford Bulls All Stars team captained by Gerry Sutcliffe, Minister for Sport and including Rugby League greats such as Robbie and Henry Paul, Paul Newlove, Keith Mumby, Karl Fairbank, Tevita Vaikona, John Hamer, and the unforgettable James Lowes.
Gerry Sutcliffe MP said he hoped to make this an annual event for the City of Bradford. He added:
"I am pleased and delighted to be able to help raise funds and awareness for such a debilitating condition".
John Hamer, who has been busy getting the Bradford Bulls All Stars team together, commented:
"The team is very proud to be helping such a worthy cause. It's so sad that young lives can be taken away so suddenly by this condition".
The game is a friendly touch and pass game with a play the ball restart, 20 minutes each way. Players must be over 18 years old and a place on the team is yours, in exchange for a minimum donation of £250 which can be raised through sponsorship. Kick off is at 6.30pm and following the match all participants will be able to stay and watch the big game between Bradford Bulls v Wigan Warriors.
The inaugural match is sponsored by Bradford based Sovereign Health Care. Russ Piper, chief executive of Sovereign said:
"It is an honour to sponsor such a deserving cause. I am sure that the public and businesses across Yorkshire will get behind the game, as the opportunity to play with such an array of rugby legends doesn't come up very often!"
You too can play in the game, which kicks off at 6.30pm, simply by pledging or getting sponsorship for a minimum of £250.00 for the Cystic Fibrosis Charity. £250 is the MINIMUM starting bid and the places will go to the highest bidders, the closing date for entry is 5.00pm Wednesday 3rd March.
