ACADEMY PASS FIFTY
The Bulls Academy hit the fifty point mark running out 56-6 winners over Salford City Reds at the Grattan Stadium.
The young Bulls were simply too good for their opponents who actually took the lead in the second minute. It was to be a further eighteen minutes before the Bulls levelled when outstanding Prop Forward Tom Lillycrop rampaged his way over the line. Liam Mackay scored after great passing along the line and he touched down again within minutes as the Bulls took control.
Robert Hawthorne forced his way over in the corner before James Donaldson, who was in great form all afternoon in both attack and defence, scored the last try of the half. With Stand Off Joe Wardle converting three times the Bulls led 26-6 at the break.
The second half was completely dominated by the Bulls, Lillycrop and the Burgess twins were in rampant form and proved unstoppable and behind them Wardle and Scrum Half Liam Kay controlled all aspects of the game. Jake Senior grabbed a try at the start and then George Burgess caught a high bomb and strolled over unopposed. New signing Jobe Murphy was next to score using his feet and size to good effect he crossed despite the attention of three would be tacklers. Donaldson got his second try and the scoring was completed by Tom Burgess. All the second half tries were near the posts and Wardle converted all five tries.
It was a tremendous performance by Basil Richard's side who are playing some fantastic football. The Bulls Pack were outstanding and laid the platform for the success.
