ACADEMY IN BIG WIN AT LEEDS

Three tries to Stand Off Joe Wardle helped the Bulls Academy to a 52-10 win over the Leeds Rhinos at Stanningley.

The young Bulls were in outstanding form and, with Props Tom and George Burgess and Tom Lillycrop rampaging through the middle, the Rhinos were simply blown away.  Adam O’Brien controlled things well from Dummy Half and there were big contributions from Tom Olbison, Liam Kay and Robert Hawthorne.

The Bulls led 22-4 at the break after tries to Wardle, Jacob Senior, Kay and James Donaldson and were quickly into their stride in the second period with Wardle completing his Hat Trick within ten minutes.  Kay had his second and then impressive Full Back Ben Helliwell crossed before Olbison made sure the Bulls passed the half century mark with the last two tries.  Joe Wardle also kicked six goals.

The game was marred with an injury to Leeds’ Tim Scire who was injured attempting to tackle Tom Burgess.  The player was unconscious and the game was held up for fifteen minutes but thankfully the player recovered after leaving the field on a stretcher.
