ACADEMY IN OPENING DAY DRAW

Four second half tries to Hooker Jacob Senior saw the Bulls fightback from a 6-28 half time deficit to draw 36 all with Castleford Tigers at the Grattan Stadium.

Senior, on as a late first half substitute, rattled four on the bounce after the Bulls were left shell shocked in the opening twenty minutes as the Tigers scored at will.  Twice the Bulls let the kick off go dead and they were 16-0 down before they touched the ball.  A Liam Mackay try gave them hope at 22-6 but another mistake saw Castleford go in at the break leading 28-6.

Senior took the game by the scruff of the neck at the restart and his guile and pace from dummy half saw him cross four times and, with Joe Wardle converting three and James Donaldson one, the Bulls had an unlikely 30-28 lead.  When Lewis Reed crossed with ten minutes to go it looked like the home side were set for the win but Castleford fought back and scored the last two tries to ensure they went home with a share of the spoils.
