RESERVES GO DOWN AT CASTLEFORD
The Bulls Reserve Grade side went down 28-18 to Castleford Tigers in a game played at Castleford Panthers ground in gale force conditions.
The Bulls played with the wind at their back in the first half but a poor kicking game meant they spent long periods on their own line and some poor goal line defence cost them dearly. Castleford led for much of the first period but a break from Full Back Kieran Hyde two minutes from the break led to a well taken try by Karl Wroe. Hyde added the conversion and the Bulls trailed 8-6 at the interval.
The second period started with the Bulls on the attack and it looked like they had taken to lead when Hyde forced his way over, only to lose the ball in the act of scoring. Castleford immediately capitalised on their escape and scored two tries in quick succession to lead 14-6 before Eddie Kilroy pulled one back for the Bulls to make it 10 -20. But again their inability to defend their own line allowed Castleford two soft tries before later touchdowns to Jack Ely and Ethan Phillips gave the final score some respectability.
