In Bulls Eye this week, Head Coach Francis Cummins looks ahead to Sunday’s Super League Rd 26 clash at the Provident Stadium when London Broncos are the visitors.
WITH NOTHING TO PLAY FOR NOW, AS FAR AS THE TOP EIGHT ARE CONCERNED, IS IT JUST A CASE OF PLAYING FOR PROFESSIONAL PRIDE?
“Yes it is. We have overcome a lot of things this season and we have achieved but ultimately we didn’t reach out goal of the Play Off’s. There have been some tremendous efforts this season from players; I have someone playing every week with a broken hand and people with sternum injuries because we just didn’t have the numbers and yes there have been some great efforts. It’s about personal pride new. We had a go, just missed out but note we want to miss out by just two points.
We have all worked hard and some of the players have doubled their games this season and it will put them in good stead for the future. Danny Addy has been ever present this season and has improved leaps and bounds so yes we are disappointed but we can take a lot of positives from this.
We want to finish off for our supporters who have been tremendous all year. They have had some good things to cheer about and some good performances from us this year and we want to go out with a couple more.
LONDON IS A GAME YOU CAN WIN.
“They are all winnable games. We can win all our games but London have had some good performances this season and aren’t a push over. They played really well against both Huddersfield and Leeds and of course they defeated us in the Challenge Cup. A lot of their players are going their separate ways at the end of this season and what we need to do is to start really well so that we get them thinking about next season early in this game.
Matty Blythe and Adrian Purtell both miss out so Sam Wood and Alex Mellor come into the squad, which is:
Addy, Diskin, Donaldson, Evans, Foster, Gale, Kear, Kearney, Langley, Lulia, Manuokafoa, Mellor, O’Brien, Olbison, Platt, Sammut, Scruton, Walker, Wood
NICK SCRUTON will make his 100th appearance for the Bulls on Sunday. He joined the club from Leeds Rhinos for the start of the 2009 season. He has scored 7 tries for the club.
