HULL GAME NOW ON SUNDAY

8th February 2013
The game against Hull FC, which was postponed tonight, will now be played on Sunday at 3.00pm. Here is a statement from Hull FC.
Hull FC have issued the following statement following tonight’s postponement of their match against the Bradford Bulls.
The club would like to apologise for any inconvenience that tonight’s fixture has caused for supporters of both Hull FC and Bradford Bulls.
A serious accident occurred on the M62 at approximately 4:45pm meaning the road was completely closed. This caused delay for the travelling match officials and the Bradford team coach, who both arrived late for the match.
The closure between junctions 34 and 35 also meant that travelling Hull FC players, match officials, regional media, Bradford Bulls staff and the official Bradford Bulls supporters’ coaches were stuck between both junctions and couldn’t exit the motorway.
It was later confirmed that the motorway would remain closed in both directions until Saturday morning.
Hull FC, Bradford Bulls and the RFL were in regular dialogue ahead of the proposed kick-off time and an initial delay was confirmed to provide the best possible opportunity to ensure the game could go ahead.
However, after confirmation of the road closure and that those parties that were delayed were unable to move from the motorway, all parties agreed that the game should be postponed.
Following discussions with SMC, EMC and the emergency services it was confirmed that the game would be postponed until Sunday 10th February at 3pm.
The decision was ultimately made with the best interests of the supporters in mind, with neither club nor the RFL willing to make supporters wait any longer without any definitive suggestion as to whether the game would be able to go ahead on Friday evening.
Both teams’ Head Coaches and Senior Management were involved in the decision making process and are keen to stress that the match should go ahead as a fair contest played at the right time with full squads available, with ultimately the best interests of rugby league at heart and safeguarding the integrity of the Competition.
Both Bradford Bulls and Hull FC would like to thank those supporters who attended the fixture and waited patiently, especially the supporters from Bradford Bulls who made it to the KC Stadium.
Further information will be posted on this site tomorrow
