CUMMINS DELIGHTED WITH BULLS PERFORMANCE

22nd January 2013
Francis Cummins admits he is brimming with pride after his Bradford side maintained their unbeaten start to 2013 with a draw against Leeds.
The Bulls started the game like a house on fire, racing into an 18-0 lead through two early tries from Jarrod Sammut and one from Brett Kearney, before being eventually outdone by a moment of brilliance from testimonial man Danny McGuire which denied them victory.
Despite drawing the game, Cummins was more than happy with the way in which his team played against his former club.
He said: "There were loads of positives and it's another pleasing performance. I thought our middle men did really well because we’ve only got three props available, whilst Leeds had five props and were able to rotate them pretty quickly, so for us to go toe to toe with them for long periods is throughly pleasing."
Cummins also hailed the enthusiasm and collective spirit of the performance, with the Odsal chief pleased with the foundations being built from his side's two pre-season fixtures.
"I honestly can't ask for anything more from them because if we stick together as a small group and we improve as a group, then I'll be more than happy with how we progress this season. In the two games we've had there has been some good glimpses out there of what we are capable of producing. I feel that a lot of the players are changing, starting to wake up, because once you start getting into that frame of mind, this is when you start building up. That's where we are and this really excites me with the new season on the horizon."
Bradford will face Richard Agar's Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the opening game of the season at the Provident Stadium.
The game will take place on Sunday, 3rd February with a 3:00pm kick off.
