THE MILLENNIUM MASTERS
The task: to choose a team fit for a Millennium.
Simply to find a team that would represent all the great players to wear the famous Red, Amber and Black of the Bradford club, be it Northern or Bulls over the past century. Bearing in mind that it is difficult to select players who were unseen it is fitting that the team should come from the last 60 years when the club has seen a lot of high quality players and a lot of unparalleled success.
So who was to choose such a distinguished bunch? Who had the onerous task? Well lets start with an ex player. Trevor Foster has been with the club for 62 years and has seen all the players in that time. Likewise Charlie Ebbage has supported the club over the same period as Trevor. Jack Bates is the club's longest serving Director and has supported the club since the early 1940's. The Bradford Telegraph and Argus suggested the idea of a Millennium Team and their former Rugby League writer, Brian Smith, who reported on Northern for 27 years was joined by the then correspondent, Nigel Askham who has written on the fortunes of the club since the inception of Super League and watching since the early 1970's.
