Education Programme

Based upon the values, reputation and success of the previous Stampede Study Support Centre, the Bradford Bulls Foundation Education Programme aims to contribute to improving levels of achievement in schools and develop the social and emotional levels of children and young people.

Its core aim is to support schools in raising standards in Literacy, Numeracy, self-esteem and confidence particularly amongst primary school pupils, whilst having learning and enjoyment at its heart.

The programme is led and delivered by a fully-qualified teacher and holds the safeguarding of children in high regard. Comprehensive child protection & safeguarding policies are in place with staff holding full CRB checks.

The education programme offers 5 core units:

  • Bullpen- a sports journalism course that focuses particularly on developing writing for an audience
  • Marketing the Bulls-a multimedia course in which pupils construct their own advertising campaign for a Bradford Bulls game or rugby league event
  • B.U.L.L.S.-Build Up Life Learning Skills includes developing resilience, responsibility, teamwork and cooperation through a highly interactive, pupil led programme that addresses all learning styles to improve literacy and numeracy skills
  • SEALs-delivers the six main themes of the SEALs programme with a sporting analogy and through the context of the Bradford Bulls
  • Bullyproof-This unit uses the Bradford Bulls own anti-bullying magazine to define bullying, develop strategies for reporting and dealing with bullying and to develop individual resilience by building confidence and assertiveness.

The education programme offers an ever-growing list of provision which can be customised for pupils. Bespoke courses, workshops and assemblies can also be developed in partnership with schools to more directly address the learning needs of pupils.

The units of study also provide the ideal solution for PPA cover.

Upon request, courses can be adapted and delivered to secondary school students.

For more information about each of the units, CLICK HERE to download the Education Programme brochure.

The Bradford Bulls Foundation Education Programme has already engaged with hundreds of pupils across the Bradford district and has received incredibly positive feedback. Sessions have been described as highly interactive with high quality resources and delivery, whilst pupils have said;

 "It was brilliant when the Bradford Bulls came in because we did journalistic writing and we did a newspaper report. I loved it."
