A Change of Heart

In association with

 Heart_Research_logo

The Bradford Bulls Foundation Education Programme is pleased to have established a partnership with Heart Research to deliver A Change of Heart project to over 7,000 pupils and parents across the Bradford district.

The  project will raise awareness about the simple changes that can be made to lifestyle choices to prevent heart disease and will contribute to addressing Bradford's problem of approximately 30% who are suffering long-term illness or whose general health is classed as ‘not good'.

The project will deliver an artistic, creative, fun and interactive four week programme to 18 targeted Bradford schools using the brand and authority of the Bradford Bulls to initially engage the children and use players as examples of how a healthy heart is the result of making effective lifestyle choices.

Delivery of the project will focus on the key concepts of a healthy heart, raising awareness about the risk factors that contribute to heart disease and the fourth week will culminate in the children planning and delivering a whole school community assembly with parental engagement based upon what they have learnt and the key messages of Heart Research UK.

If your school would like to be considered for taking part in this project, contact Sharron Bright, Bradford Bulls Foundation Education Officer on 07812 061656 or CLICK HERE to emailNewsLine

Bradford College Rugby League

Over the past 18 months the Connection between Bradford Bulls Foundation & Bradford College has become stronger and stronger.

The Foundation deliver 2 and half hours coaching for training and a full match day. This year, the biggest positive was having players turning up to train on a regular basis as this has been the biggest issue with pervious seasons.

Training involves game preparation and core skills this is important as all these players from this season I relatively new to the game of Rugby league.

Currently the team competed in Division Two Colleges league and played against other colleges around Yorkshire.

Ben Greaves had this to say about the team:

"It's been great to see a group of lads so enthusiastic about playing rugby league for the college that they are turning up to training week in, week out. Numbers of people are always an issue and we are always looking for more players that want to take part"

Adam Payne (Bradford Bulls Community Rugby League coach) said:

"This season we have may great steps of providing a strong competitive team for next season and hopefully the guys that have put all the hours in training this year will come back again and play for the college. Everyone is welcome to play even if you have never played the sport before."
