As one of the clubs proud to be part of the RFL's Equalities Agenda, the Bradford Bull's Foundation are pleased to celebrate the positive development and continual commitment it has in working alongside the governing body to develop links with BME and Faith communities. The aim of which is to overcome barriers in participation and create a welcoming environment within the sport for everyone whatever their race, religion, faith or belief.

Emerging9sRecently the Bulls have experienced a number of enjoyable events such as Eid Mela celebrations, educational workshops and matchday experiences for people linked to the local Council for Mosques community facility the Khidmat Centre. The events have proved to spark real enthusiasm for the game with the guests and they in turn have become keen to work with their local communities to introduce Rugby League.

The Bull's players have also got behind the foundations efforts, with Rikki Sheriffe and Craig Kopczak visiting Springwood Primary School in Manningham for an afternoon of Rugby League fun, whilst Glenn Hall and Heath L'Estrange braved the freezing conditions to support the "Emerging 9's" competition for the year 9 entrants from the Challenge College.Girl1

Community Rugby League Coach Duane Straugheir's efforts have also been seen recently with both Challenge College and Dixons Academy (Allerton) breaking through to compete in the latest Bradford & Keighley Emerging 9's competition. An event staged at St Bede's Grammer School and organised by Service Area Co-ordinator James Lewis.

"It was pleasing to see so many local kids of various ethnicities coming together and actively competing - but more importantly really enjoying - Rugby League," said Straugheir.

SportRelief1"It makes my job so satisfying when I see a number of age-groups from one school represented at something like this, especially when a few weeks ago there had been a very limited interest in the sport. We just need to ensure we back this up and promote the transition from school to club and hopefully we'll see a real increase in the strength and depth of our community clubs."
