The Bulls Foundation Main Projects
B-Linked - Reception, Year 1 & 2
This initiative was funded by Linktelecom and became a two year Sportsmatch project. The success of the project ensured that demand for receipt of this project is still extremely high. The project covers the Fundamentals of fitness based on the Long Term Athlete Development programme and covers the core skills of Rugby League incorporating balance , coordination, agility and speed.
The project has now been in situ for two years and continues to go from strength to strength. The benefits are far reaching and success has been achieved with individuals who are both in and out of mainstream schools and posses physical and mental disabilities.
Bulls B-Active - Year 3 & 4
This new and innovative project was set up in early 2008 to meet the needs of the Year 3 and 4 learners within local primary schools. It is very flexible within its delivery and can be offered over a 9 week period of two forty minute sessions. The first session being education based in the class room covering a separate topic each week from: Healthy Heart, Healthy Eating, Sports Nutrition,
RESPECT, Team Building, Self Esteem, Anti Bullying
The second forty minute session is then outside or in the hall covering physical activities linked to the educational session, for example: forty minutes Team Working delivery followed by forty minutes Team Work activities around small sided games.
Bull Tag - Year 4, 5, 6 and 7
This initiative is now Rugby League wide after the Bulls first delivered it. The programme engages young people in learning the core skills of Rugby League in a safe controlled environment which is tag rugby, no contact.
Bull Tag is delivered over a 6 week block in school covering core skills such as grip, catch, carry, pass before going onto learning the Bull Tag game rules and playing in their own game.
National competitions are run throughout the year for Tag Rugby.
Rugby League Skills Development Sessions - Year 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
The Bulls deliver generic sessions of Rugby League development to schools and amateur clubs within and outside its catchment area's. these sessions are based around contact rugby and assisting participants to refine techniques and core skills that are demanded within modern day Rugby League.
Assembly Programme - All Years and ages catered for
The Bulls have a diverse and educative assembly programme that can be tailored to suit the needs of the group it is tasked to deliver to. We will develop bespoke packages to suit the schools needs or individual group needs. We also have a full set of SEALS (Social, Emotional, Aspects of Learning) delivery encompassing a total of 15 different assemblies as well as common topics such as: Healthy Heart, Healthy Eating, Sports Nutrition, RESPECT, Team Building, Self Esteem
Anti Bullying.
Youth Inclusion Project

This project if funded wholly by the Young Peoples Support Unit with the Bulls providing in kind support to certain aspects of the programme. The project allows the Bulls to fund a full time worker who is responsible for engaging young people in positive activities and gain them accreditation and achievement. The project has many different concepts linked to it with elements of the programme assisting in reducing crime rates and also the engagement of young people in a one to one relationship to hopefully integrate them into group settings. We currently aim for a 75% transition rate into group activities as these individuals that are mainly based in the Shipley area of Bradford do not relate well to groups. The worker offer's a large range of 6 week course's that each young person will gain an accreditation for upon its completion. In conjunction to this young people can also gain accreditations such as "The Duke of Edinburgh's Award", "ASDAN awards" and "The Local Youth Award".
Some of the topics are: JRLLA, JRLOA, Healthy Heart, Healthy Lifestyle, "Beat the Burge" Challenge (High Level fitness Challenge against Super League Star Sam Burgess), Fitness Development, RESPECT, Anti Racism, Anti Bullying, Hate Crime, Healthy Relationships, and Self Esteem.
