The Bulls found themselves 12-0 down in the first eight minutes but Nathan McAvoy squeezed in at the corner and James Lowes scored the first of his two tries to bring them back into the game. Brian McDermott crossed before Lowes'second try, together with 3 goals from Paul Sykes, gave the Bulls a 22-12 advantage at the break.
The second half was a strange affair, not helped by some inconsistent refereeing from Karl Kirkpatrick. The Bulls, who couldn't satisfy the Officials at all, had to defend for long periods and the only try of the half went to the home side through Jason Demitriou.
