They recorded their first away victory over Wigan since 1997 with tries by Lee Gilmour, Mike Forshaw and Tevita Vaikona and three goals from the boot of Paul Deacon contributing to an 18-4 win. Wigan's only points came from a Terry Newton try.

The victory was marred by inuries to Lesley Vainikolo, who tore a hamstring as he created the opening try for Gilmour, and Michael Withers who left the field with a groin strain.

Coach Brian Noble said "I was really proud of the players, the way they muscled up tonight. I thought they were fantastic. We could have had a few more tries though, I thought some of the decisions were poor tonight. But it was a great performance."
