LAST HOME GAME

I must start this week by making a little confession!! I have been under enormous pressure from the boys to tell everyone about the cricket match we played last week.  Unfortunately for the Aussies, we had to have some English boys in the team, players like Dave Halley and Koppy and we played the same rules as indoor cricket, where you bat for so many overs and when you get out you lose five runs.  Well that pair ended up with minus 70 in their four overs and left us with an enormous task to try and win.  I ended up with 42 and Beaver and Nero got 20 odd apiece but it was the Englishmen's contribution of minus scores that did for us!!  So the Aussies lost two Ashes Series last week!!  The truth will out!!

Last weekend we were off and like I said last week we had a cheerleading competition and I was down there with them.  Well our girls got seven first places and a second and a third.  That's unheard of and I am very proud of all the girls and really happy with the way things went.  They were outstanding in everything they did.  Well done girls!!

It's back to the action this week and we have Salford at the Grattan Stadium.  The results have gone our way in the last few weeks and we just need to concentrate on our own game and see where it takes us.  It's going to be a pretty emotional for a few people playing their last games at the stadium but we need the result and we'll see how the other games go because we may still have a chance of making the play off's.  The supporters have been great in the last few games, cheering and singing and we want to give them something to cheer and sing about this week.  It will be emotional for me and I will have my kids running out with me.  They have told me they will still be cheering for the Bulls even when I am at Wakefield!!  But I just want to get out there and get a victory and keep the play off's alive for us.

Salford have been a bit unlucky this season and in some ways they have been pretty similar to us. They didn't start the season very well but they have some good players there -  Ratchford and Myler have been the finds of the season as far as I'm concerned  and have really stood up for them - and they'll be coming here looking to spoil the party because they don't have anything else to play for.  When you play teams when you have nothing to play for you just want to go and beat them and finish their season off as well.  They will be coming here looking to do that and I understand Robbie Paul is playing what will probably be his last game at the Grattan Stadium, so he will be looking for a good finish too.

I saw some of the Challenge Cup Final highlights and like I said last week I thought Morley and Carvell would be the key for the Wolves.  There was a lot of big game experience in Warrington's ranks and I think that proved to be the difference.  I thought Moz was sensational, particularly in his second spell when he really ripped in and Briers and Monaghan, who has played in NRL Finals were just what they needed to get that little bit extra over the Giants.  I heard Browny speaking after the game that they were just a little bit overwhelmed by the experience and I don't think too many of them have been in finals before but that will come.

The Tipping Comp is into its last week and I am still at the top of the tree.  I have a good lead and I just need to get a few right and I should be in the cash!!  I will also be looking forward to my free feed at Nandos!!  Beaver is right there stuck at the bottom so he will be one paying for our lunch next week!!

Like I said it will be emotional for me on Sunday but I'd like to thank all the fans who have come along each week and all the players who have been great in what has been a tough year.  We have a couple of games left and let's see if we can extend that by a few more.  Make sure you are here on Sunday!
