BRADFORD boss John Kear believes his side’s pre-season opponents will provide the perfect test – with four fixtures preparing the Bulls for their second season in the Betfred Championship.

A Boxing Day trip to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle kicks off Kear’s charges pre-season schedule, a stern test against Daryl Powell’s Super League outfit.

The first fixture of 2020 sees us renew rivalries with Leeds Rhinos at Emerald Headingley Stadium for Jamie Jones-Buchanan’s testimonial.

All-Championship clashes then follow at the Tetley’s Stadium – with Dewsbury Rams and York City Knights warming up Kear’s roster ahead of Round One of 2020 campaign.

“It is a really good pre-season schedule and it is an indication of where the club is at,” said Kear.

“We committed to a fourth with York and we are honouring that commitment and as a result we have four really good games.

“There are two Super League clubs to start with and having spoken to Leeds, they are going to put a strong team out for Jamie Jones-Buchanan’s testimonial.

“That will be a huge test and they will be out for revenge and then we have two Championship clubs which will show us where we stand ahead of the start of the season.

“Two games at the Tetley’s Stadium before the season starts to acclimatise and by the team kick off in round one comes along it will feel like our home for the season.”
