Dalton Grant insists the best is yet to come as he targets further improvement heading into 2019 – with the winger hailing the impact John Kear has had on his time in the red, amber and black.

The 28-year-old arrived at Odsal Stadium prior to the start of the club’s 2018 Betfred League One campaign and has now put pen-to-paper on a 12-month extension, meaning he will be a Bull until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Welsh winger Grant has made 26 appearances so far this season, breaching the opposition defence on no fewer than 16 occasions to aid John Kear’s sides attempts to win promotion back to the Betfred Championship.

Paying tribute to the emergence of a number of young stars in the first team this term, Grant admits the competition for places is improving every aspect of his game.

“I am delighted to have signed an extension with the club and I hope those 12 extra months will be in the Championship,” said Grant, who is sponsored by 39 Steps Consulting.

“I feel like I am finding my feet now, I have been lucky enough to stay injury free and I hope to kick on even further next year.

“John is one of the main reasons I came to the club initially, I have obviously worked under him before and I knew I could trust him to rebuild my career after injuries.

“It has proved to be the best decision for me and my career, I feel like I have done okay this year and I have really enjoyed my time at the club so far.

“I feel like I have improved as a player, I have had to or I would not have kept my spot in the team we have a lot of competition for places here.

“Now the attention can turn to the final few games of the season and ensuring I am representing this club and these supporters in a bigger league next year.”
