"THE NEXT FEW GAMES WILL SHAPE THE REST OF OUR SEASON": PELTIER
Ross Peltier believes the nature of Friday’s 24-4 defeat of Newcastle Thunder shows he and his team-mates have what it takes to secure promotion back to the Betfred Championship.
The Bradford-born forward came off the bench to help secure an 11th straight win for John Kear’s men, who sit two points clear at the top of Betfred League One.
Brandon Pickersgill, Ethan Ryan and Dane Chisholm all crossed for tries in a close-fought contest watched by 3,029 supporters at Odsal Stadium.
Coming away from the ‘arm-wrestle’ with the two points will prove significant according to Peltier, who insists the next few games will shape his side’s destiny.
“Newcastle are a very tough side and we knew how hard it would be from the game up at their place when they ran us close,” said Peltier, who is sponsored by Captain Hornblower, Carol and Tony.
“We are just happy to have got the win, the boys dug in when they needed to and we showed we have great confidence in each other’s abilities.
“When the backs are against the wall we know we can trust each other and Friday was no different.
“If we are going to get promoted back to the Championship it is vital we win games which are a bit of an arm-wrestle like Newcastle.
“We set ourselves a target of going straight up and we have handled that pressure so far and it is nice to have reeled off 11 straight wins.
“But the next few games, starting with Hunslet on Sunday, will shape the rest of our season no doubt about that.”
