REJUVENATED BULLS READY FOR NORTHERN TEST SAYS GARSIDE
Matt Garside believes he and his team-mates are reaping the benefits of the mini mid-season interval following his man-of-the-match performance last time out against North Wales Crusaders.
The second-row talent was one of eight Bradford Bulls try-scorers in the 50-12 demolition of their Welsh counterparts last Saturday – notching his eighth and ninth score of the season in the process.
Having arrived at Odsal on a two-year deal, the former London Bronco quickly instilled himself a favourite on the terraces with a series of all-action, commited displays in the pack.
The 27-year-old balances his on-the-field exploits with teaching during the week, but insists he is loving life in the red, amber and black of Bradford and is eager for further improvement.
“It was a tough transition to begin with having spent my time down in London as a full-time player I had to adapt,” said Garside, who is sponsored by BMG.
“But I am loving my time here, we have a great set of lads and we can only be happy with where we are as a team approaching the halfway stage of the season.
“To have a mini mid-season break was beneficial for us all and it allowed us to recharge the batteries and rest the bodies so we can give the second half of the season a good crack.
“It was good to be back at Odsal in front of the thousands of supporters that follow us around the grounds and it was great to be able to put such a performance in for them.
“Now we turn our attention to Whitehaven on Sunday and we will make sure we prepare properly and right the wrongs from the last visit up to Cumbria.
“We have to be focused, we have to be disciplined but our fate is in our own hands and we are confident in our own abilities.”
