KEAR KEEN FOR MORE TASTE OF THE PROVIDENT STADIUM

Following a successful opening pre-season game against rivals Halifax RLFC, Head Coach John Kear is confident in continuing Bradford’s winning form against Sheffield Eagles this Sunday.

As the team returned to training after the Christmas break, Kear, sponsored by Bradford Bulls Banter, intends to continue Bradford’s winning ways this weekend, although the Bulls face an uphill battle against the Eagles.

"I expect them to be very competitive and I know their coach Mark Aston very well and any team he manages will be extremely competitive because he's extremely competitive,” said Kear.

"It's their first game of the season so they'll be looking to stop our momentum from the Halifax game but I'm looking forward to overcoming that challenge."

"I'm looking forward to this Sunday, I think that we've got a great squad and can really get stuck in"

As Kear clinched his first victory in front of the Bradford faithful, the former England man is eager to return to the Provident Stadium and stand proudly in front of the fans as his side do battle with the Eagles.

"Even though it was raining, it was fun. We've got some great fans. I was really pleased when young Josh Rickett put a good shot on one of their players and for the full set afterwards, they were right behind us when we were defending.

“That's what I want to encourage our fans to do, be bullish and try to make Odsal a fortress this season."

"Taking baby steps is necessary because rather than throwing the kitchen sink at everybody, I think you progress it nice and steadily towards where we want to be, come that round one game."
