BEATTIE'S UNDER 19'S SUFFER TOUGH DEFEAT AGAINST WARRINGTON

Bradford Bulls under 19’s travelled to Warrington last Saturday in their fourth fixture of the season.

Warrington wolves started the game with more intensity and control of the ball, better in the very wet and windy conditions. After four minutes they scored a long range try down the left hand side to give them an early four point lead.

Young Bulls team were out of sorts for the first forty minutes of the game and it was pretty much one way traffic, they were out played and out enthused by the Warrington juniors, who went in at half time, leading by twenty four points to nil.

The second half the young Bulls came out with far more purpose and started very brightly, scoring an early try by Keelan Foster. Warrington replied three minutes later to give the ma thirty points to six advantage.

The young Bulls team then had their best spell, controlling the game for fifteen minutes and getting the score back to thirty points to sixteen, with two tries from Tom Doyle, who put in a strong performance.

The Bulls were putting on pressure and then a stray pass gave Warrington and eighty metre intercept which killed off any opportunities the young Bulls had.

The final score was 42 – 16 to the worthy winners, Warrington Wolves, but a much improved second half from the young Bulls team.

The next game is on Thursday (23rd March – 7.00pm KO) at Stanningley Rugby League Club versus Leeds Rhinos Under 19’s.
